ACADEMIC ASSOCIATES PROGRAM -- The mission of the Associates program of the American Geological Institute is to serve the wider geoscience community by fostering improved communication between academia, the private sector, and government. The ultimate goals of the program are to develop a more effective public presence for the geosciences, develop a sufficient stream of well-trained geoscientists to support industry and government, and to allow for the dissemination of ideas between the various geoscience sectors.

The American Geological Institute Academic Associates Program enhances the exposure of Academic Geoscience Departments and promotes communication between academia and other sectors of the Geoscience Community.

• Subscription to EARTH Magazine: Subscription valid for one year from date of registration. The subscription will be sent to your
  department chair.
• Listing your department in the Guide to Geoscience Departments: To list your department in the Guide, contact Leila Gonzales, (703) 379-2480, Ext.632. to receive your department’s ID number and password. Your listing in the online Guide will appear soon after we receive the information from you.
• A copy of the Geoscience Handbook: AGI Data Sheets, 4^th edition, will be mailed to you upon receipt of associates’ dues.
• A copy of Status of the Geoscience Workforce will be mailed to you upon receipt of associates’ dues.
• The Online Glossary of Geology service will be made available via IP address to the associates’ department upon
  receipt of associates’ dues and will remain active for one-year (academic department only, this does not include library
  access).
• Academic Associates can purchase bulk copies (minimum 10 copies of each title; inquire for shipping/handling costs) of the
  following titles:
  ♦ Print copies of the Glossary of Geology can be purchased for $69.30 per copy (retail $99.00).
  ♦ Additional copies of The Geoscience Handbook: AGI Data Sheets, 4^th edition can be purchased for $34.97 per copy (retail $49.95).
