1999 AGI Geoscience Associate's Conference

Theme

  Unifying the Geosciences through Improved Corporate and Academic Communications 

The host of this year's conference is Exxon Production Research Company in Houston, Texas, and the theme is Unifying the Geosciences through Improved Corporate and Academic Communications.  The Conference will have four parts:  1. Sessions for presentation by distinguished leaders in the geosciences concerning the state of the discipline with respect to their employment sector; 2. Presentations about the needs of the geoscience education community and the issues they face in training geoscientists; 3. Breakout groups will be formed to discuss in detail specific issues and develop action plans for addressing these problems; 4. A tour of Exxon's research facility, providing an opportunity for participants to learn about and experience leading edge oil and gas geoscience research.
