Geologist, born and educated in Australia (BSc Newcastle; PhD Tasmania). Entire career has been with BHP. Worked on minerals exploration first in Australia, then in Asia, more recently worldwide. Early work in exploration operations; later in research, project generation and graduate recruiting. Currently Chief Geologist based in San Francisco. This is a worldwide role including technical and operational advice, research and training. Strong involvement with professional societies and universities worldwide. SEG International Exchange Lecturer 1999.
