Coalition for Earth Science Education
7th Meeting
January 10-13, 2002

Mark your calendars now for the 7th meeting of the Coalition for Earth Science Education (CESE), January 10–13, 2002, at Goddard Space Flight Center located in Greenbelt, Maryland.

CESE is committed to bringing together the combined forces of the Earth and space science community—geologic, astronomic, hydrologic, atmospheric, oceanographic, and biologic—to enhance Earth and space science literacy, and to provide a united voice on national and regional policy issues that affect Earth and space science education and to focus attention on implementation of the National Science Education Standards.

Building on the June 2001 Snowmass workshop, the 2002 meeting titled, “PROMOTING THE REVOLUTION IN EARTH AND SPACE SCIENCE EDUCATION”, will provide an opportunity to share resources, and build networks in support of science education reform in the Earth and space sciences.

Who should attend?  Representatives of societies, agencies or organizations active in science education, or with an interest in Earth and space science education and the implementation of the National Science Education Standards.

Special security arrangements
Due to heightened security, access to Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is closely controlled. All meeting participants must be registered prior to arrival at GSFC. Participants will assemble at the Greenbelt Marriott for shuttle transportation to and from the center. Individual automobile transportation will be allowed only if prior arrangements are made. This requires a GSFC-badged employee to accompany you and will be difficult to arrange.
