The Biosphere

The biosphere is the living and once-living part of the Earth system. This includes microorganisms, animals, plants, and their interaction within the biosphere and other Earth systems. It also includes dead and decomposing living things and special molecules from once-living material. During your journey through the Earth system, the biosphere has already been playing a role. The presence of a biosphere, and its interaction with other spheres, makes Earth a unique planet in our Solar System.
