AGI Regional Curriculum Leadership InstitutesSupport for teacher professional development for EarthComm and IES comes from the AGI Foundation, the Geological Society of America, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation. The American Geological Institute hosts national Curriculum Leadership Institutes for teachers and administrators from schools that have purchased AGI's EarthComm (high school) and Investigating Earth Systems (middle school) curriculum programs. Participants learn the content, pedagogy, and assessment strategies of the AGI programs through an inquiry-based approach to professional development. In addition, they build the leadership skills needed to conduct teacher workshops, lead professional development, and host awareness presentations on the programs in their schools, districts, and/ or states.
