Frequently Asked Questions
 
Q: Can I nominate someone to attend in my place?
A: Yes, but the individual must be a member of the project staff.

Q: Can I invite another person from my project at our expense?
A: We will limit the conference to 90 participants. Please provide a nomination for our consideration and identify the individual prior to December 18 for consideration. If space is available, we will let you know before January 1. 

Q: My curriculum project is not “active” as defined, but we receive funds through implementation sites. How many people from my project can attend?
A: One.

Q: Can I use my own travel agent to arrange my round-trip flight?
A: AGI only reimburses costs for air travel booked by our travel agent, with the exception of multi-city journeys (see next question).
Q: I will attend as part of a multi-city trip– how should I handle travel arrangements and reimbursement?
A: AGI’s travel agent is not authorized to arrange multi-city flights, so you must make such travel arrangements on your own. If you submit an expense reimbursement form after the conference along with original airline receipts, you can be reimbursed for up to the cost of a 30-day advance purchase round trip airfare from your city. 
Q: When should I contact your travel agent?
A: Our travel agent will contact you, so please make sure that you provide complete contact information as soon as possible. All air travel must be arranged prior to January 1 to be covered by AGI.
Q: What meals are provided at the conference?
A: All meals but dinner Saturday February 3rd and lunch Sunday February 4th.

Q: Will I need to use my personal credit card at hotel check-in?
A: Yes, for incidental expenses associated with your hotel stay since only the room and room tax costs are provided by the grant. 

Q: What costs are covered by the project?
A: Most meals, room and room tax, air transportation, conference materials, audiovisual equipment for curriculum showcases. 

Q: I want to drive. Can I be reimbursed for mileage?
A: Yes, at 30 cents per mile up to and including the costs of a of a 30-day advance purchase round trip airfare from your city.
