The Challenge of Assessing Technological Literacy
Greg Pearson
This poster will provide the history and progress of an ongoing NSF-funded
study at the National Academy of Engineering and National Research Council
that is examining approaches for assessing technological literacy in the United
States. The project is a follow-on effort to the report, Technically Speaking:
Why All Americans Need to Know More About Technology (National Academies Press,
2002). The poster session will highlight some of the unique challenges to
assessing technological literacy in students, teachers, and the public at
large.
