AGI's Environmental Geoscience Advisory Committee (EGAC)

AGI's Environmental Geoscience Advisory Committee (EGAC) was established in 1993 to develop policies and projects that reflect the needs of the member societies and help accomplish AGI's overall environmental mission. This committee, co-chaired by Phillip E. LaMoreaux and Stephen H. Stow, includes representatives of AGI's member societies along with a selection of liaison representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, and industry (see membership below). The first EGAC meeting was held in April of 1994 and the committee has been meeting biannually since. It is through this committees guidance and efforts that AGI's environmental projects and plans have been developed.
