Discuss approaches to developing policy priorities and turning consensus on priorities into constructive action.
I. Introductions and Preliminary Business [2:00 - 2:30]
Approval of agenda
Approval of report from October 2006 meeting and review of action items
Review of program finances
II. Member Society Collaboration and Input [2:30 - 3:00]
Discussion of priority issues of the Member Societies and how GAP might help societies with their public policy initiatives.
III. Collaboration's with AGI's Education and Public Outreach
[3:00 to 3:45]
Discuss ways in which Member Societies can participate more in AGI's education and public outreach initiatives, particularly Earth Science Week. Ann
Benbow, AGI's Director of Education and Outreach will provide an overview. Perhaps we will even get a preview of the film series, "Faces of Earth".
IV. Building Consensus on Policy Issues [3:45 - 4:30]
How do societies determine possible policy priority issues?
How do societies determine if they have consensus on priority issues?
How do societies turn consensus into action?
V. Wrap-Up and Other Business [4:30 - 5:00]
