AGI seeks outstanding geoscience students with a strong interest in federal science policy for a semester-long internship in geoscience and public policy. AGI is planning to accept three interns for the summer at a fixed stipend of $4,000 apiece. Stipends for the interns are funded jointly by AGI and a generous grant from the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) Foundation. The internship lasts twelve weeks, and the starting date will be based on the schedule of the successful candidate. Applications should include official copies of college transcripts, a resume with the names and contact information for two references, and a cover letter stating your science and policy interests and what you feel you can contribute to the program. All application materials for summer internships must be postmarked by March 15, 2008. Applications should be sent to: American Geological Institute Inquiries only to govt@agiweb.org. AGI is an equal-opportunity employer and especially welcomes applications from women and minorities.
