Member Society Public Policy Activities
Several of the American Geological Institute's member
societies have adopted position statements on issues important to
the geoscience community and relevant to public policy. Member societies engage in a number of activities that increase understanding of the geosciences, including connecting the geoscience community with the general public and policymakers. These activities include the establishment of public policy offices in Washington, D.C., the formation of public policy committees, and participation in a variety of coalitions. This page provides links to member society position statements and information on member society public policy activities.
