The American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) National Scholarship Program application is due February 15th.
The $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to eligible US students to assist tuition and/or room and board. Up to four scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate geological sciences majors sophomore year and above. Applicants must also be a student member of AIPG or must have applied for membership by the time their application is submitted.
Applicants must submit: a letter of interest with name, mail and email addresses, and telephone number; proof of enrollment in an eligible geological sciences program, transcripts; an original one-page essay on why the applicant wants to become a geologist; and a letter of support from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s academic work. By accepting a scholarship, students also agree to prepare a 600 to 800 word article for publication in The Professional Geologist on a subject related to a timely professional issue.
