Seismic and well-log information are handled by other groups on the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project (YMSCP). Geologic samples are available for examination at the Sample Management Facility (SMF), located on the Nevada Test site, a secure DOE facility. Arrangements for examinations must be made in advance. The sample collection is composed primarily of tertiary volcanics from the Southern Nevada Volcanic Field. In addition, some samples of the deeper Paleozoics are available. Contact the DOE, YMSCP office for additional information concerning geophysical data, map and location, and geologic and mineralogic data.
