NGDRS List of Well Log Codes

Several of the NGDRS data sets make reference to traditionally used geophysical well log codes. The two tables below are intended to help users find some information about the codes. Table 1 lists the well log products/services by code. Table 2 lists additional products/services referenced in the literature with NO apparent codes. However, it gives the user a chance to "best guess" what is the likely product associated with the codes not listed in the first table.

The lists are not exhaustive and they probably contain many inconsistencies and incorrect entries. It is offered to the user as an aid for the "quick and likely" identification of the product/service. The tables display mostly the "older" products and services provided by the major well log service vendors (wa = Western Atlas, sc = Schlumberger, hal = Halliburton, com = Computalog, bpb = BPB Instruments). The (*) indicates trademarked products. Again, it is likely we did not capture all of what is trademarked by the different vendors. Corrections are welcomed.
