This update only applies to owners of ArcView version 3.0.
This is required for Macintosh users of Arcview as only
version 3.0 has ever been released. This is not needed for
ArcView version 3.1 or higher.

This file is an update for North America Global GIS volumes
released in 2002. This corrects the included ArcView project
so that it should work for version 3.0 of ArcView on Windows
and Macintosh platforms. This volume of the Global GIS set
used the image format Mr.Sid to save space. Version 3.0 of
ArcView does not support Mr.Sid images. Thus all references
of the images saved as Mr.Sid were removed from this project.
The shaded relief map included on the CDROM will not be
usable under ArcView 3.0. For a new and improved shaded relief
image please visit:
ftp://webgis.wr.usgs.gov/globalgis/
Download the add-in data for your volume and uncompress to a
new folder. Use the "add theme" button in ArcView to load in
the new base images.


Installation:

You can only update the files if the data is installed to 
your hard drive. Copy this file to the directory:
harddrive:\nameric\data\

Using winzip or other zip software, uncompress the contents
of the zip file overwriting the existing file.
