Mr. Slayback received a B.S in geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He has been a consulting hydrogeologist with Leggette, Brashears & Graham, Inc., since 1960, in New York City until 1974, and then in Connecticut
. He became President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the firm in 1984. His professional experience has involved most aspects of hydrogeology, but his major consulting focus has been public water supply and dewatering of open-pit and underground
mines. He is the Member-at-Large on the AGI Executive Committee and has been a past President of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the AGI Foundation and the AIPG Foundation. His wife of 37 years, Ju
dy, is a principal of an environmental consulting firm specializing in wetlands and land-use planning, and they have two married daughters who are well-launched into their own professional careers.
